Let’s Throw Money at Google

There is nothing like having options when it comes to your high speed Internet services. Moving to Colorado recently opened my eyes to the wonders of having a choice. Back in Kentucky, we had what I’d consider the illusion of choice. They were basically; DSL, more DSL, Digital Cable or Satellite with a touch of Satellite thrown into the mix. Oh! We could also get dial-up, too! Doesn’t that just sound absolutely wonderful? Honestly, it was a bummer to not be able to have more than a handful of options that all charged the same prices for the same speeds.

Colorado, well, this place is way different than I thought it would be. I had completely forgot that Google Fiber was in the area and man, let me tell you right now that Google Fiber is going to change the way that we use the Internet. With blazing speeds and, for some, free access to the Internet, Google is positioning themselves to become a major provider in the United States. It’s a smart move from the innovative tech Giant which seeks to cement itself firmly in the minds of U.S consumers who have grown weary of the current ISP companies.

Although I am well aware that they are looking to profit from this, I am more than happy to give them my money. For Google to make a profit they will need to have as many users have access to their products and services as possible. This is a logical step forward for them; connect as many eager Americans as possible and deliver them quality Internet for a reasonable price. There is currently no other company like them in the United States who can offer the same. Verizon, Time Warner and Comcast will have a lot of looking over their shoulders to do in days to come.
