Dish or Cable? That Was the Question for Our New House

Sunday, November 23rd, 2014

Funny, but the big question we had when we built our new house was not over what paint color we would have in the rooms or what window treatments we would have. It was a question of dish cable or that TV service the phone company was offering. We decided to go with the tiny dish that gets mounted on the house. It was unobtrusive and brought us in the most HD channels we could get for the money. A new house meant the living room was definitely getting that huge screen TV. We have a theater-like experience in our home now with the satellite HD channels, On-Demand and that huge TV.

Football is really cool at our house now. Our favorite fall and winter sport is larger than life now that we have satellite and this really big HD TV in our living room. My wife and I and the kids gather around it to watch our favorite shows and PPV movies on our movie night. (more…)

Power to Choose Electricity Provider in Texas

Thursday, November 13th, 2014

When I recently moved to Texas, I found one thing to be rather shocking. Sure there were a lot of things to adjust to, regarding the wildlife, weather, and other features of Texas. But that is not at all what I am talking about. I guess the idea had never even crossed my mind before. But in the state of Texas, you have the power to choose which electricity company that you buy your electricity from.

I am not sure if there are any other states in the entire country, where that is the case. I do not really care to look into it right now either, because while I am curious to know, I am not curious enough to look into it as this present moment. If I remember, then I may perhaps check into it at some point later. (more…)

Best Account Services in Bristol

Thursday, September 11th, 2014

I need to find some accountant services in the city of Bristol, because I am now in charge of a company that was not ran very well, before I was in charge of it, and I intend to change things, such that it is ran better in the future. I am not sure how much money it will cost to hire an accountant in Bristol but I must say that cost is not really my top concern. Rather, my concern is that we begin to run the company in a proper way.

I do not know how things go so out of hand, when it comes to the way the company is ran. (more…)

Started to Plan for a Second House

Sunday, September 7th, 2014

I started thinking about what it would cost me to build a small second house for the weekend. I am not talking about another house like the one I live in, but something big enough for you to spend weekends and vacations in. Of course you do not need as much room in a temporary residence, although in our case we might need a little bunkhouse type of deal for the grand children. I have been looking at how to save up the money and reading stuff on americanpersonalfinance.org about their plans for effective money management, because this would be a tight squeeze for me. Of course the idea would be that at some point you move out of this house, sell it for a good price and use the money to retire. The house we own is big enough for a large family, it has four bedrooms and two a half baths. There is a backyard that is a bit less than an acre fenced in for dogs and kids to run around in, but we do not really need all that.

Of course the grand children love it here and we watch them after school, but eventually we are not going to have a real need for this house and so we could quite easily move up to a place where we could retire by the lake. Of course I might need a boat house and a new boat once we sold the house, so this plan is not without a good many flaws. In fact you end up going out on the boat and burning up a good bit of gas every other day if you live on a lake and it is easy to go out fishing any time that you feel like you want to go.

Working Hard on Losing Some Weight

Sunday, August 24th, 2014

I have tried all sorts of diets and a lot of supplements and all sorts of other stuff in the past year and a half. I have tried Garcinia Cambogia and all sorts of other things. The thing that works is not any fun at all. You have to work hard enough at losing the weight to get rid of it. It is hard enough to do it for short periods of time and like a lot of people I lose ten or fifteen pounds through intense effort, then you look around and all of a sudden it has come back. You look at your belly and your hind parts and wonder how it snuck back in so quick. The obvious answer is that you have to change your entire style of life and diet and exercise if you want to take the weight off and leave it off. (more…)

I Explored the Area on My Own

Tuesday, August 19th, 2014

Normally, I just use a cab or even a limo at times when I am away on business. I usually have very little time, plus I am not familiar with the areas I am going into. Because of that, it just makes sense to have someone else drive me to my hotel or to a company for a meeting. When I decided to take a few extra days on one business trip, I decided to do something I have never done before. I did an online search for car hire at tenerife airport because I wanted to explore the area on my own.

While it is nice to have someone else drive me when my time is limited, I felt that it would be a bit stifling to have that done when I am just trying to relax and enjoy my surroundings. (more…)

Finally Got My Master’s License

Sunday, August 17th, 2014

I just got the test results back from the state and now I am a licensed Master plumber for nj. Of course for some time I have been doing the job, but it was time for me to get my license so that I could do it for myself. The reasons are very simple. Ken is going to be retiring in a few months and his son is going to be taking over the business. The boy is nice enough, but it is not as though I would like to put my future in his hands. For certain I do not trust him to bid on jobs so that we can get enough work and turn a profit on them. (more…)

Is There a Real Unlimited Data Plan

Sunday, August 17th, 2014

A few months ago I decided that I needed my business to be more mobile. I do my best to be constantly on the move and being on the move means that I have to be able to be in contact with the rest of my business and customers at all times. It’s important for me to be on the cutting edge of the market, which means I need a reliable 4g coverage map. I have been with several different companies who have offered their own ’4g’ but it turns out that these companies apparently do not know what 4g means. I would see huge pit falls in my data coverage and would experience packet loss like I was on 3g. For me and for my business, this is completely unacceptable. (more…)

Finding the Right Help for Construction Management

Sunday, August 17th, 2014

Construction seems to be going on everywhere, and no matter how much space is covered in buildings, people seem to find new areas to build. Of course sometimes it is also necessary to build in the place of old buildings or modify existing structures to meet the needs of new owners. Altogether, it can be a very complicated and demanding process with minimal room for delays or error. This makes the task of organizing it all something that few people can do efficiently, but luckily building construction management in nyc is easier to find than ever right now.

Balance is the key to finding a proper management company for your construction needs, making a company that can respond and adapt to your needs one of the most crucial factors. It is rare that a company wants to pay so little that they do not get the necessary results, as construction is an investment so return on said investment is important. At the same time, getting overcharged or convinced to take the project too far can also wreak havoc on budgets of any size. (more…)

Top Rated Drain Cleaning in Bergen County

Sunday, August 17th, 2014

I just bought a house and it is in need of quite a few repairs. However, one of the most pressing concerns, is that the drain in the shower for master bathroom does not work. It is horribly clogged, and I am not even sure what could be down there, to create such a terrible clog. I guess that whoever lived here before is to blame for the issue, and I really wish this was not something I had to deal with, but now I am looking for drain cleaning in bergen county nj.

I really think it would be a good idea to get this problem fixed soon, because I would like to make use of this shower. Right now, all of the members of my family are having to use the same bathroom, and that is not very fun at all. (more…)

Got Moved into My New Place Today

Saturday, August 16th, 2014

It took me a long while, but I finally found the perfect place for me. I would guess that I looked at about forty different biscayne beach miami condos before I found the one that was exactly what I wanted. The location was the big thing of course. I wanted to be able to get on the beach in a minute or two. I wanted to be able to walk to a couple of good bars and restaurants if I felt like it and I wanted to be a very short distance from my job. I was living out near the old Homestead Air Force Base and I really hated the commute. Of course I was a bit worried about getting a place that was too low though. I am not interested in buying a place that is too low in elevation relative to sea level. (more…)

Working on This Job Down I-85

Tuesday, August 5th, 2014

We are working on this job between Greenville and Spartanburg down here in South Carolina. Of course we are not really all that eager to spend more time than we have to do here, so we are getting up at half past three in the morning and starting the work at four in the morning. We put in ten hours a day and then on Thursday we roll past Paychex in Greenville, SC and collect our checks. The boss does the payroll so that you get paid for what you did the week before and so I just have to keep up with the hours and send them to him by email or text. We could probably get our checks back at home, but we have to go back to the hotel and grab our stuff, take showers and then we drive around three hours and change back to the Raleigh, NC area.

Of course the big thing is to get clear of Charlotte before rush hour starts. In particular you want to get off interstate 85 before it turns into a parking lot on you. (more…)

Let’s Throw Money at Google

Wednesday, July 30th, 2014

There is nothing like having options when it comes to your high speed Internet services. Moving to Colorado recently opened my eyes to the wonders of having a choice. Back in Kentucky, we had what I’d consider the illusion of choice. They were basically; DSL, more DSL, Digital Cable or Satellite with a touch of Satellite thrown into the mix. Oh! We could also get dial-up, too! Doesn’t that just sound absolutely wonderful? Honestly, it was a bummer to not be able to have more than a handful of options that all charged the same prices for the same speeds.

Colorado, well, this place is way different than I thought it would be. I had completely forgot that Google Fiber was in the area and man, let me tell you right now that Google Fiber is going to change the way that we use the Internet. (more…)

I Got a Job at a Gym

Saturday, July 12th, 2014

It is more like a second job, because this is not going to pay the bills, it is not even going to pay the bills for a broke college student who lives in his Mom’s basement like I do. It is about three nights a week for around six hours a night, starting after supper and hanging around until Midnight. Of course the place closes at 9 PM, but I have to make sure all of the dumbbells sets are in their proper places and all of the towels get washed and everything is clean. Of course I am not the only person who does all that stuff. (more…)

A Place We Like to Call Home

Monday, June 23rd, 2014

With so little storage space to be found in a Singapore apartment, it’s important to find a self storage service if you’re a Westerner who is coming to live in Singapore. You might doubt me now but I highly encourage you to start researching now on the square footage that is available in most residential apartments. The condos are certainly going to be much larger, especially those that have kept us Westerners in mind when they were designed, but for the most part if you’re coming here seeking work or merely hoping for a new place to put down your roots, you’re going to have to take into consideration what you take with you and what is going to be more of use to you in your new home. These places maximize every single millimeter to ensure that you’re quality of living is both good and efficient. (more…)
